2023

Foundation

In the fall of 2023, the Swedish non-profit organization Beredskapslyftet decided to launch the Reskilling Ukraine project. This was the organization's first project to help Ukrainians in Ukraine. The project's activities are included in Sweden's humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.

2024

Development

We have successfully launched the OnTrack retraining program for women. It includes five courses. The main training partners are Scania and Volvo Group. Our results at the end of the year: 344 graduates; 17% of graduates are already working in Ukrainian companies; we support the creation of a community of women in a new profession, organize guest trainings for graduates, and help expand job opportunities from our partners.

2025

Extension

Thanks to the successful implementation of the OnTrack program, we continue to increase the level of women's participation in the labor market in atypical professions for women.
At the same time, we launched the UNIT 6.0 program with courses for female and male veterans. We provide them with all the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to master relevant professions that will help them return to civilian life and work.

About the organization and source of funding

Beredskapslyftet - a Swedish non-profit organization, the founder of the Reskilling Ukraine project. Its goal is to combine the resources of civil society and business to overcome crises and serious challenges facing the country.

The creation of the organization is connected with the 2020 pandemic. That's when the owners of recruitment companies and businesses founded Beredskapslyftet. At that time, a significant number of airline personnel were out of work due to the lockdown. Instead, the country was in dire need of medical staff to help in hospitals. Therefore, the organization's first project was to retrain stewardesses and other SAS employees to become medical staff. Swedish society actively responded to the outbreak of a full-scale war in Ukraine and began to help Ukrainian refugees in Sweden. At that time, Beredskapslyftet initiated the creation of a school for Ukrainian children in Stockholm. This was successfully implemented. Then the organization helped to establish the Ukrainian Cultural Center and the Professional Support Center, which are still working effectively in Stockholm.

The Reskilling Ukraine project is funded and implemented with the support of the Swedish government, private Swedish foundations, and businesses. Participation in the project's training programs is free of charge.

Volvo Group is a Swedish concern that manufactures cars, trucks, construction equipment and buses. One of the Group's divisions, Volvo Construction Equipment, has become our partner in the first program in Ukraine to train women to become excavator and front-end loader operators (Iron Women). VolvoCE provides the necessary training equipment and materials, including a Volvo simulator, several compact excavators and wheel loaders. Among the machines is a recently introduced electric wheel loader, the first in Ukraine. This is proof that our training program keeps pace with the times, keeps up with new products, supports development and prepares participants for work.
