About the project

Reskilling Ukraine is a project of the Swedish non-profit organization Beredskapslyftet. It was created to help Ukrainians rebuild Ukraine through education, retraining, and professional development programs. This is Beredskapslyftet's first project in Ukraine.
Reskilling Ukraine's activities are based on free training programs for women and veterans, as well as mentoring support for graduates on their way to new professions. All courses in our programs are designed to meet the current needs of society during and after the war. They are designed to help female and male candidates undergo high-quality retraining and gain the maximum knowledge necessary to start a career in a new field.
Our value is a person, respect for them, their needs and comfort. This is what we focus on in our work. This is manifested in the best practices of tailored training that we have developed in cooperation with our partners. Each training program is unique. Our care and support for groups at high risk of exclusion from the labor market is invested in each of them.
Through our programs, we provide an opportunity to change lives by learning a new profession; receive a decent salary; and have a stable source of income.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What format of cooperation is possible with you?

Reskilling Ukraine does not employ graduates of the programs. However, we introduce participants to various employers who are looking for female drivers to join their teams, which makes it easier to find a job after obtaining a category C driver's license. In addition, we send out a weekly newsletter of current vacancies of our employer partners to ensure that all the most relevant opportunities are available to the program graduates.

What is the goal of your project?

The purpose of our project is:

• human capital development through training and retraining;

• retraining for in-demand specialties that are needed today and will be needed during the reconstruction of Ukraine;

• expanding career opportunities for women and veterans;

• promoting inclusiveness, respect and equality;

• Involving women in some “male” professions that have a shortage of workers due to the war and other circumstances.

How can you be useful to the project partners?

Our partners are often also employers looking for workers. We can help them by becoming a bridge between them and our graduates who enter in-demand professions and are able to fill the labor shortage in enterprises and organizations. Our team creates a space for them to meet and communicate. In addition, we cooperate with partners in the field of corporate social responsibility. This is an important topic for the development of corporate culture, when partners change not only themselves but also the society around them by transforming their companies.

By supporting us, our partners receive the following: distribution of their vacancies among our network, visibility to our audience, the opportunity to attract new qualified employees, image enhancement through awareness of their activities and company tours, etc.

What is the purpose of your courses?

Our courses are designed to provide students with quality and sufficient knowledge to start working in a new field. We strive to support groups at high risk of being excluded from the labor market, giving them the opportunity to obtain a profession in demand, a decent salary and a stable source of income.

What regions do you work with? Are there any limitations?

There are no restrictions. We are happy to cooperate with companies from all over Ukraine.

What population groups do you work with?

We work with two categories of people. The first is women who want change, decent pay and do not give in to stereotypes about “male” professions. After our retraining courses, they get the specialties needed by society: truck drivers, excavator operators, car mechanics, etc. The second category is veterans who have been discharged from service for more than six months and are looking for new opportunities to develop and realize themselves.

Is it free of charge?

Yes. We cooperate with partners only on the basis of non-commerciality and non-profitability.

Can you describe a typical portrait of women/veterans who study with you?

No. This is impossible, because all our students are unique people. Each of them has their own unique story and life experience. However, they are all united by their desire to support and rebuild Ukraine and their desire for opportunities to develop and realize their skills, knowledge and talents.
