How the training takes place

Theoretical part

5 days

A module that lasts 7 hours every day. It provides fundamental knowledge in the field of energy, electrical engineering and solar power plants (SPPs). Participants study the current state of the energy sector in Ukraine and the role of renewable energy sources (RES) in its development. The program also includes the basics of electrical engineering: calculations of power, voltage, current, resistance, and the principles of electrical circuits.

Detailed attention is paid to the structure and functioning of solar power plants. Students are introduced to different types of solar panels, inverters and charge controllers. They also study battery systems, their parameters, selection methods, and means of protecting electrical systems. A separate part of the course is devoted to cable products, including selection criteria, wire cross-section calculation, and safety standards.‍

The theoretical course ends with a block on business and quality standards. Here, students learn about the financial aspects of implementing a solar power plant: how to estimate the payback period, project profitability, and what documents are needed. The course also covers occupational health and safety requirements, construction standards, and high quality service standards - everything you need to be a professional in this field.

Practical part

8 days

Practical training, which takes place at a specially equipped training site. Here, the participants consolidate the theoretical knowledge gained in the first stage and acquire the real skills needed to install solar power plants. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, the women learn to work safely with power tools, perform precise installation of solar panels, and install and connect key system components such as inverters, batteries, and protective shields.

Special attention is paid to working with fasteners, cables, and electrical connections. Participants learn how to perform all stages of installation on their own, from physically fixing the equipment to making precise connections according to technical diagrams. This stage helps to build confidence in working with tools and teamwork skills, which are critical in real-world environments.
